Our Goal

The goal is to reduce maternal mortality rates in our community by providing comprehensive support to newborns who have lost their mothers, ensuring they receive the necessary care, medical attention, and love, while also supporting struggling fathers in their caregiving journey.

What we’ve achieved.

Over the years, the number of maternal mortality rates in Nigeria has tragically surpassed 1000 women annually, leaving behind newborns without a mother. Compounding this heartbreak, many of these babies are left in the care of young, struggling fathers who lack the resources to provide adequate care. Recognizing this dire need, The Nehemiah Team, in partnership with the Gospel Missionary Church motherless baby home, extends a nurturing hand to these infants. Our dedicated team ensures these babies receive the love, medical attention, and physical care they deserve. Since our inception, we have proudly provided care for over 1000 babies, and our commitment to this cause remains unwavering.

Challenges

One of the most significant issues we have with newborns who have lost their mothers and fathers who have lost their wives is their mental and emotional well-being. Most fathers require psychological support to help them cope with grief, stress, and the difficulty of caring for a baby alone while still entrusting the baby to a trustworthy caregiver.
